Mal-Code
Mal-koder

What is mal code?

The mal code number is a local regulation to be applied and complied by companies manufacturing and supplying in Denmark.

The mal code number contains two numbers describing how dangerous the product is, for example 1-2.

The first number is giving the safety precautions that should be taken to minimise inhalation of the volatile vapour content of the product. Volatile vapours are substances that can evaporate into the air and subsequently be inhaled. The higher the number, the more volatile the substances in the product are.

The second number is indicating the safety measures that must be taken to minimise the health hazards that occur if the product comes into contact with the skin, eyes or respiratory system or if the product is consumed. The higher the number, the more harmful the product is.

In SIAM we ensure that our customers are fully compliant with the latest regulations, and able to produce exactly the results you need. Dangerous goods regulations can be a minefield and we pride ourselves on our expertise in local and specific hazard compliance.
