ARGENTINA STABLISHES GHS
Argentina has implemented the UN’s Globally Harmonized System (GHS) for the classification and labelling of chemicals.
Former deadlines for GHS labelling requirements, April 2016 for substances and January 2017 for mixtures were extended to January and June 2017 respectively due to Resolution SRT155/15.
Brazil was the first country in Latin America to implement GHS in June 2015, whilst many countries in the area have yet to stablish it. Nevertheless, legislative progress is in many of these nations agenda, so further implementation is expected progressively.
