Chemical products with old labels off the shelves
From 1 June 2017, all chemical products placed on the market have to be labelled in accordance with the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation.
The CLP Regulation is now the only legislation that applies in the classification and labelling of both substances and mixtures. This marks the end of the transitional period for mixtures. Only hazardous chemicals carrying labels with the CLP pictograms can be supplied from 1 June onwards.
Companies must classify, label and package their hazardous chemicals appropriately before placing them on the market. If you still have products on your shelves with labels following the requirements of the previous legislation, you must now make sure that the products are either no longer placed on the market or re-classified and re-labelled in accordance with CLP.
