It is already available the eighth revised edition of the GHS
Although many countries are still updating and even implementing the seventh revised edition of the GHS, the Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods and on the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals has published the GHS (Revision 8), approved on December 7th, 2018, updating the seventh revised edition of the GHS, which include:
- New classification criteria, hazard communication elements, decision reasoning and advice for chemicals that work under pressure.
- Various corrections to clarify the principles of classification of Specific Target Organ Toxicity.
- Update of the criteria for aerosol classification.
- New caution pictograms to communicate the precaution "keep out of reach of children".
- New labeling example for sets or kits.
- New annex on dust explosion hazard.
