SIAM collaborates with Vicente Ferrer Foundation in its "Oxygen for India" campaign

Since 1969, the Vicente Ferrer Foundation has been committed to the fight against poverty and the development of one of the most impoverished areas of India, the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. They have developed actions to raise awareness of hygiene habits, to combat discrimination against women, to help migrants, to promote inclusive education, etc.

However, as it happened in the rest of the world, the public health emergency due to the coronavirus pandemic has been a great challenge for all its material and human resources, which have worked tirelessly to alleviate its consequences.

Thanks to this immense work, its hospital in Bathalapalli was designated as a reference hospital for COVID-19 by the State Government, and in recent months it has been rehabilitated to increase the number of beds and the oxygen supply points.

However, and especially since the vertiginous increase in cases that occurred in mid-2021, its material resources are not enough to cope and provide the hospital and its support networks with all the means they need. In fact, even though the news is no longer making headlines, Sars Cov 2 continues to hit the Southeast Asian country hard, especially in its rural areas.

For this reason, the foundation launched an emergency campaign “Oxygen for India”, crucial to meet the needs of its hospital in Bathalapalli.

From SIAM, we are proud to announce that we have wanted to join this initiative and have made a donation to do our bit to alleviate the effects of COVID-19 in India.

Donations are intended to:

  • 1. Provide oxygen cylinders, concentrators and generators to ensure supplies in our hospitals.
  • 2. Caring for and treating patients with more severe symptoms from COVID-19.
  • 3. Raise awareness about prevention measures and the importance of vaccination.
