GHS
in LATIN AMERICA
Steps are currently being taken to implement the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) in various countries across Latin America. However, the status of implementation is not the same in all countries.
What's more, each Latin American country has adopted the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) to its legislative system according to the reviews of the GHS. This may or may not integrate all the hazard classes and categories, and also incorporates rules specific to each country.
These differences make it difficult for chemicals exporters to comply with the regulations of the different countries, having to reclassify their products and regenerate the safety data sheets and labels in accordance with the regulations of each country.
